I was born in a small county named Yan’jin in the center of China. Most people lived their whole lives there and never move. My parents have four kids; I am the second oldest one. When I was a kid, my parents had a wholesale business. They were so busy that we met them only at dinner. After dinner, they returned to the store and slept there instead of home. It was my grandmother who took care of us. We called her Nana, which gave us a warm feeling.
Nana had a nice personality, and she was very thoughtful and warm-hearted. She loved our family very much. Besides that, she always gave a hand whenever our neighbors needed help. As a person who never went to school in her whole life, Nana was really smart. She could do complicated calculations faster than a calculator. And she did everything fast and good.
At that time, people wore handmade shoes, which required a lot of work. Nana made shoes for the whole family. What a huge workload! She made shoes by heart and our shoes were always the most beautiful in our neighborhood. Whenever our neighbors saw the shoes that we wore, they would come our home to borrow the paper patterns of those shoes. Sometimes, she did paper-cut for us. Whenever she did that, all of us sat around her, looked at her and thought that maybe she was doing magic. (a magic trick)
In traditional Chinese culture, children are supposed to do what they were told. But Nana gave us enough freedom. We could do what we interested in. As a kid, sometimes we don’t know what we need to do. There are things that we didn’t like but we need to do. For example, we didn’t like to go to school, because it was boring. We had to sit in a room all day and no pets, no flowers, no trees and no fun. Even like that, Nana never pushed us. She had her own way to do that. Every day, Nana stood at the front door and gave us an apple or a candy before we left home to school.

Does easy prepared food improve the way people live?
Twenty years ago, people usually need several hours each day to prepare food for family. It will take longer if the family is big. For example, my parents have four children, so my mother always has a lot of cooking things to do. In those days, there are neither ready-to-cook shrimps nor ready-to-cook chickens. Every year, my mother feed several chickens that would be our holiday dinner. Nowadays, people who want to cook chicken just buy it from store. It is so convenient that people could do it whenever they want without waist any time on feed chicken and kill them. Besides ready-to-cook chicken, people could find almost everything they need to cook which was made easy prepared. In fact, easy prepared food improves the way people live.
The direct result that caused by easy prepared food is that people, especially women, would free from kitchen. With easy prepared food, women in these days cook quicker and quicker. For example, there are different frozen pizzas in supermarket, all you need to do is put it in oven or microwave and wait for eat. In this way, it will take you five minutes to cook pizza. In traditional way, it would be more than two hours.
Another reason that easy-prepared food improves the way people live is it could make people more productive. Since people don’t have to stay in kitchen all day, they have time to do more meaning things. In my mother’s day, nobody who has four young children would work at same time. Nowadays, it is not strange for a woman who has two children and pursues her PhD degree at the same time.
With all the reasons, I prefer that easy prepared food improves the way people live.

lust caution
Now, i am sitting in the Main Art Theatre waiting for the Chinese movie named Lust Caution. The movie is directed by An Li and I wanted to watch the movie for a long time.
Last weekend, many of my friends watched the movie and they told me that the movie is very worth to watch. At that time, i had waited for a long time to a good time to watched it . I am very curious about the movie.
4 minutes later, the movie gonna begin. I am dying to watch it.

tough time for me
These days, I feel upset because something happened almost ten years ago have a bad influence . Still, i believe that every problem has a solution. EVERY PROBLEM HAS A SOLUTION.

little by little, a bird builds its own nest
About three months ago, i joined an English class. i was the first and the only student when the class was opened. My husband drove me there every Wednesday night. Few weeks later, my husband joined the class, too. Now, we have more than twenty students and tutors.
Before i joined the class, I had been told that my tutor would be a lady named Beth. Now, I still can remember how exciting i was when realized that I can talked with American.
The first time i went to the English class was still vivid now, i fond that in fact i had two tutors. one is Beth, the otherone is a lady named Shirley. Beth is very young and nice, always has a smile face. Shirley had lived abroad for a long time, including fifteen years in England. In a word, she had so many experiences that's very good.
One Wednesday, when we practiced the spoken English as usual, Shirley told me that she want to teach me a idiom. The idiom is: Little by little, a bird builds its own nest. I like the idiom so much, because its the same with my English study. When I came to America half year ago, I couldn't speak a word or sentence, neither I could understand what's American mean. Step by step, i made improvement in English. Now, i can speak with American naturally.
